Following that, the science and lifestyles at Henry Ford Hospital, Loyola University, and Stony Brook University are described elaborately. The major science is explained next. The book ends with tribute to parents and uncles.


About the Author

Subir Maitra obtained his PhD and DSc in physiology from the University of Calcutta. His first appointment was in the faculty of the Department of Physiology, Banaras Hindu University, India. Following his hypertension research as a senior Fulbright research scholar at Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit, he joined the faculty in the Department of Physiology at Loyola University Medical School in Chicago. He then joined the faculty at Stony Brook Medicine in the Department of Surgery and Emergency Medicine followed by a faculty appointment in surgery at North Shore University Hospital at Manhasset, New York. As the director of Emergency Medicine and Trauma Surgery, Prof. Maitra developed the trauma research laboratory and sustained the growth of all phases of the laboratory. He has been the recipient of National Institute of Health grant as principal investigator, and he has published his work in esteemed journals. Prof. Maitra’s record attests to the fact that he has committed significant time and effort to the very important task of training clinicians in the research laboratory.
