About the Author

The author, Debbie, has been blessed with a loving family, an upbringing on a farm to learn practical life skills, and many great horsemanship skills from a very talented horseman—her father, who taught her to break-in horses thirty years ago in the natural way and being able to ride horses to compete up to state-level championships. Debbie is your coach with a difference through her ability to achieve a high focus on development with strong attention to technique from exposure to both Western and English riding. Starting with pony club and moving into the show ring, dressage, jumping, campdrafting, barrel racing, and polocrosse. Plus the breathtaking 2000 Olympics opening ceremony team of one hundred and twenty musical ride performers. The author is credited with an established riding school for over ten years and has many coaching qualifications, but her unique qualities come from her down-to-earth, friendly, positive attitude and ability to relate to all ages. She is experienced in being a parent of twins and the high expectations of child development in recreational activities. Deb’s life is now completely dedicated to her family, her horses, and the charity that Deb and her husband, Mark, founded called GiddyUp Gold Coast, a not-for-profit venture aimed at the grassroots of the sport but more passionate in the healing aspects of horses for the community. Development in confidence, nonverbal communication techniques, and emotional control along with an escape from technology and being back to nature to unplug and unwind mental and physical strength to handle life’s challenges and to experience the energy, love, and freedom horses can provide. Through their GiddyUp Kids programs run by Bonogin Valley Horse Retreat in Gold Coast, Australia, and the amazing Women’s Confidence Clinics for a week to ride and relax.
