About the Book

A young nineteen-year-old girl from New York City has been abandoned at a large superstore by a semitruck driver after using her and befriending her for months. She has not a penny to her name! She is in shock and desperate. Never having been in this situation before, she grasped the first straw that came along. His name was Dusty, a perfect example of a big-hearted ole cowboy, and after breakfast with him, she decided to worm her way into his heart. That turned out to work both ways. They fell in love. She was enthralled by his simplistic attitude and speech. They both had to learn how to communicate with each other. She was determined to get to be a cowgirl and stay with him. There was no life for her back home in New York City. Her parents were hopeless with drugs and alcohol. She had to succeed with Dusty. There was nothing for her to go back to in New York. This was her only chance. And, after a long two-year period, they came together and admitted they loved each other. They got married and good things started to happen to them both. Little baby Dusty Gene was born, and things just kept getting better! Lots better! Love is a wonderful thing on a remote ranch in Engle, New Mexico, now.

About the Author

The author is a retired HVAC teacher. Now eighty-two years old, he lives in Southwest New Mexico and started writing after retiring the second time. He was an automotive mechanic and service manager in that field for many years. He was also the owner of two heating and air conditioning companies and also a field service engineer for a large aftermarket auto accessories company—troubleshooting and finding solutions for product problems as well as working with the CEO and engineering to eliminate the problems and glitches that occur in new automotive products. This required extensive forty-eight state travel by air and ground and, at times, days and days of trial and error to complete some projects. Most of the time, the idea of writing was postponed because of the nature of the job. It required all of his attention. After retiring, he was wondering what to do with his self when he was recommended, very soon after retiring, by a friend to the owner of a large trade school and began teaching four hours per day, two classes per week for twelve weeks of heating, troubleshooting, and repair, followed by twelve weeks on air conditioning troubleshooting and repair. He found a new love, teaching from the age of sixty-five until the age of seventy-two. He then retired again, moved to New Mexico from Michigan and now, after the loss of his spouse, finally found the time to start writing at age eighty.
