About the Book

Friya did not sleep in the winter like other turtles. Everything has its season. But Friya spent this winter, well, becoming an artist. She drew winter, clouds, and snow. The sun shone as she opened winter’s cloud blinds, sending silvery-gold threads upon the calm silky water. The four winds weaved winter into spring. Friya’s love of art and the world around her colors her interpretation of her place among the seasons of life.

Vinh Hoang received her PhD degree in Philology from Tambov State University, in Russia. She writes and translates books of different genres. Her stories are written in four languages as English, Russian, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese. She now lives with her husband Yurii and her daughter My in San Francisco Bay Area, California, USA.
