This story is a part of the Civil War. A young boy, Niles, wants to be a drummer boy to beat a drum when the soldiers march to war. Niles’s papa made sticks for a surprise birthday gift. They were called sticks in those days. Niles will have a sad adventure as tragedy will be bestowed on his family.
