About the Book

This book is not filled with any new ideas or concepts. It is, simply put, a small spotlight shining on an ancient truth. This was written by a homemaker, not a theologian or famous preacher—an ordinary person who found an intimate relationship with the Trinity and deep peaceful joy in all circumstances through obedience. The everyday life examples are simple, homey, and easily understood. Based on the scripture, they weave a thread from Genesis to Revelation. This book doesn’t give easy formulas or sugarcoat the difficulties but shows that obedience is possible with God’s indwelling presence, bringing great peace, blessing, and glory. Truly embracing obedience has the power to transform your life and potentially the world you live in. Jesus embraced it and changed the history of mankind! Why not take this step toward personal transformation? This could be your new beginning.

About the Author

After three failed marriages and four children, Lily desperately needed a change. Her choices, though well intended, had had many disastrous consequences. Then, at age 35, God broke into her life with an alternative. The idea that she could follow the will of One, who truly loved her and knew what was best, transformed her life. Her whole-hearted “Yes” to Him began a “boot camp” journey of reformation encompassing hundreds of every day challenges of obedience. This small book details some of the reasons Lily found to faithfully obey God. Then in her 40’s, that obedience resulted in her marrying me, the only man she had not chosen for herself. Twenty-seven years later, I have never known Lily to ever consciously choose her own will over His. Because of her example, I am learning what it means to prefer God’s will over my own.
