About the Book

This native Floridian author’s Southern roots were firmly in place before her adult life whirled through eight states and twenty-six moves with her husband—a union lasting fifty-eight years. Graduating in 1955 from Stetson University in DeLand, Florida, she met and married her lover the same year. This memoir, Remnants, is their true love story. Included besides the text are fifty-three old-fashioned love letters (109 pages) written in two summertime months alongside dating. The memoir is written for their son and three daughters. The romance in their heartfelt letters is a vanishing treasure in this era of electronic expression.

About the Author

The author was born Thanksgiving morning, 1933, in Fort Pierce, Florida. A teacher at heart, in college she studied to teach in high schools. After marriage, her husband’s career transfers greatly changed their lives. Her jobs became everchanging opportunities in the eastern United States across many regions and among diverse cultures. She has a son and three daughters. Widowed in 2013, she returned home to the east Florida Space Coast. She writes Bits and Pieces articles and her poems are used with sunrise photos a college friend submits on Facebook and email. Remnants, her personal memoir, is her first book. After 28 moves, she prefers a simple life with no travel. Having a smile, being positive, encouraging and loving toward others is her chosen lifestyle.
