About the Author
My journey into writing has been both long and circuitous. From an early and utter disinterest in the art, it meandered through the years until the confluence of coincidence and near tragedy late in life revealed to me the first evidence of talent.
The door opened a crack on September 11, 2001. I sat before my computer and stared at the monitor’s empty screen and the blinking cursor thumbing its nose at me. My emotions a knotted tangle, unable to pull my thoughts together and write the lead article for a small publication I was editing, I decided to write about what I was feeling. As it goes—the rest is history. It was at that moment when I released those cathartic words, I understood the power of writing.
Every story is a journey. The route and the destination aren’t always clear, but the discovery you experience along the way, the sense of fulfilment that embraces you when you arrive, are the sources of your strength. Each story is unique, each journey enlightening.
Along the way, I have burnished the edges, polished the words, and refined the style, weaving a story I hope you will enjoy reading as much as I enjoyed writing. This, my first novel is the culmination of one journey and the threshold into the next. Welcome to Finnian’s Key. Enjoy your stay.
