About the Book

Children are miracles and mysteries. Before they are born, they are often given a first and last name, and relationships between parents and other family members are established. A value system is clearly reflected in the life of the child. The child must remember his/her roots and never turn his/her back on core values and principles affirmed by the teachings of Christ. The child must learn to be multifaceted and a multitasker. The qualifications of an individual are more important than the color of his/her skin. Never overlook giving back to the community; this feat enhances and enriches values in a human being.

About the Author

Marian Heath Griffin is enjoying her later years in life with her husband of fifty-six years, her children and their families as she stays involved with them. She has established a Cherubim Choir and a Ninety-Plus group at her St, Mark United Methodist Church. She lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with her husband Bertrand and served as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Student Personnel Administrator for thirty-six years at Southern University, the last seven years as Director of International Student Services. She graduated from Delaware State University, attended a Masters degree program at Atlanta University School of Social Work, a Masters Degree from Interdenominational (Gammon) Theological Seminary and New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary where she graduated in Social Work and Psychological Counseling. She received a Masters degree in Educational Supervision and Mass Communication and Photography at Southern University She did many years of further study at Louisiana State University and Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She has written six books on Black family background and their interaction with other races, slavery, ancestry and family values in the last seven months. She has done extensive research, traveled extensively and contacted many sources in her endeavors to discover the truth about black family life from Africa to Europe, South and North America. Her husband, Bertrand, Sr, three adult children, Bertrand II, Karen Phenix, Michael Griffin and their families are her greatest joy in life.
