About the Book

Black.x.ican! The life and trials of a biracial kid coming up. This is an epic journey into life experiences of a bratty kid of two different ethnicities, who befriends another child from the poverty-stricken north side of town. That friend runs into an altercation on the last day of class that could possibly have a lethal ending, while I have some very interesting social encounters along the way. The peaks and valleys of being a kid in a big bad world. The plots and circumstances are all based on true events that have occurred throughout my life.

About the Author

My name is Buster Brown. I am a forty-nine-year-old rehabilitated Providable Street thug who grew up in a small coastal city in south Texas. My Father was an African American and my mother a Mexican American, which created a biracial child who came up in the seventies. A turbulent time of emancipation in our country. Those experiences were what prompted me to document my struggles. I was a silver-spoon kid from a middle-class family who received all the material possessions a child could want. But that was a replacement for nurturing and guidance, which went missing throughout most of my childhood and spiraled me into choices that I am still trying to recover from to this day. My parents came from poverty-stricken families, which fueled them with tenacity to want a better life. They both educated themselves and worked long hours. That was a sacrifice that developed me into a latch-key kid. I wasn’t the smartest or the fastest coming up. I felt racism on a great scale and was diagnosed as dyslexic when I was six years old. A handicap that has been a factor up until this day. I have been fighting battles my entire life, but I never quit and have fought to overcome and achieved.
