Always be a poet, even in prose.— Charles Baudelaire Poetry and prose, magically transports the reader to visualize vividly a very personal place in time, bringing to life every possible emotion seared into the psyche that the reader may have experienced in real life, wished for, or dreamed about – author unknown The above is a quote that I read some time ago and I have been unable to trace its source however I sincerely agree with the supposition that a reader can be ‘magically transported’ and have based my ‘home-style’ poems on this premise. I have attempted to create ‘real’ events and interpreted those circumstances for the consumption of the reader through the romance of poetry. History will be the judge of my success.

The book follows no particular theme but covers a variety of topics including personal views on National Service Conscription and the Vietnam War - the book provides cheeky outlooks on politics and politicians, Covid 19, Ned Kelly (Bushranger), Mount Warning Wollumbin, ageing, arthritis and a number of other random, miscellaneous topics. The poems are not designed to make any political or military statement, they are simply designed to allow readers to share a light-hearted Australian view of the world
