About the Book

This nonfiction-based children’s book is a prelude to the memoir about the author’s early years as a young child and her struggles with leaving her grandmother’s home and coming to America. This story depicts the struggles the main character faced with adapting to a new school, a new country, and leaving behind the familiarity of her childhood possessions but most of all leaving her precious grandmother.

About the Author

My name is Jould Daniel the author of This Is My Letter To You. I was born in one of the most sought out islands in the Caribbean. I have desired to return to my birth country since the day I left with my family many years ago. This children’s book is a prelude to my memoir and a reflection of that journey from citizen to immigrant and now a nationalized citizen of the United States. I am currently a high school English teacher of 12 years who has known for the most part of my life that I am an author. Read this book with your children and look forward to my upcoming memoir.
