About the Book

Let the Good Book have the final word:

“Young people, enjoy life while you can. Be happy and let your heart bubble over with joy. Follow your heart’s desire, but remember that every deed has its consequences either good or bad, for God will one day judge everything you have done.

Don’t do things that will he hurt you, because you’re not young very long. Old age will come soon enough. Remember your Creator while you’re still young and enjoy your youth.” - Ecclesiastes 11:9 to 12:1.

About the Author

Dr Graeme Quick, who was born and raised in Australia, has broad experience in engineering for agriculture — in teaching, research, extension and consulting. He is the author of over 140 publications, including the key reference book (with W.F. Buchele), The Grain Harvesters, published by the American Society of Agricultural Engineers. That book has sold over 40,000 copies worldwide. American Tractor Stories is his fourteenth book. A proportion of the royalties from his book writing goes to the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) for humanitarian works. He holds 14 patents on farm equipment developments, from which several designs are in production and use worldwide. He has designed many different types of farm equipment and has personally built several small tractors and self-propelled machines. A large amount of his professional career has been in engineering in other countries. In 1983 Graeme Quick was awarded the Urrbrae Medal for an outstanding contribution to Australian Agriculture. In 1988 he was made a Fellow of the Institution of Engineers, Australia, and in 1995 a Fellow of the American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers. In 2004 ASABE awarded him the C.H. McCormick–J.I. Case Gold Medal for his professional contributions. His engineering work has taken him on farm machinery assignments in over thirty countries. He worked for thirteen years in North America. Married with three sons, he and his wife Marlene live on a small farm in Queensland, where he is an engineering consultant, grows trees and continues technical writing.
