About the Book
After killing a German SS officer, and stealing the plans for the V-1 flying bomb, Emil and Dorothy Van Durin flee for their lives.
Their flight takes them first to Geneva, Switzerland, which is far enough from their homeland of Amsterdam, Holland for Dorothy, but not for Emil.
Emil is sure the Nazis are hot on their trail, and the more distance they can put between themselves and the Nazis the better. Emil wants to go to the United States of America.
The Dutch couple soon find themselves in an emigrations office on Ellis Island in New York City harbor. The officer in charge has informed them that their papers are forged, but, he will overlook the forged papers for all their money and Dorothy's favors.
What will become of Emil and Dorothy? Read on and find out.
About the Author
George Robs was born in a small town in eastern Oregon, where he grew up with four brothers and a sister. Books have always been one of George's great loves and he often stated that he too would someday write a book. But, it wasn't until George was forced into retirement because of failing eyesight that he put pen to paper. "It's now or never," he declared. Since that day in 1993 George has written many short stories, a trilogy titled "Willow Creek" -- not yet in print -- and this book, "The Chicken Dutchman," a real page turner. Please enjoy.
