About the Book

If such a man captivates you, then be prepared to enjoy GREEN EYES, for in this contemporary novel there are two  two such men who look so much alike that they are often mistaken for each other.

Alicia MacKenzie, forty year old single mother, meets one of these fascinating individuals, Brandt Parkinson, when she collapses into the seat next to him after a harrowing trip to the airport over icy roads. The possibility that the missed flight would have prevented her from seeing her college freshman son and attending a family reunion in Florida had completely unnerved her. Brandt befriends her in her distress.

During the flight, an amiable relationship is established as his charming, gentle manner captivates her and her pert demeanor and green eyes enchant him. Although she has felt a stirring within her heart, they part, exchanging neither names nor ultimate destinations.

Alicias heart flutters anew that same evening when there is a surprise encounter with Brandt again. He greets her warmly, as if they were long-time friends, calling her Green Eyes. She is introduced to his look-alike partner, Michael Ainsworth, who is equally appealing. The two men have adjacent homes on exclusive Jupiter Island and are partners in Parkworth Construction, Inc., headquartered in West Palm Beach.

Alicia, after her divorce, had become a teacher at a private school in St. Louis where she had enjoyed fifteen successful years. Last fall, with her son away for the first time, loneliness and discontent overcame her, causing her to contemplate the feasibility of moving to Florida and changing careers. The partners offer her employment in their highly successful enterprise.

Her mother, concerned for her daughters happiness, is delighted that both men are single  Brandt, widowed, and Michael, divorced. Her father also wants what is best for his only daughter and warns her that both men had been eagerly pursued for many years and had given no indication of a desire for marriage.

An unexpected tragedy that leaves Brandts daughter crippled and blind, shatters Alicias dreams when Brandt utters the harsh words I dont need you. I dont want you. When he remains in Chicago to care for his daughter, Alicia decides to continue with her plans to move to Florida and accept the offered employment at Parkworth Construction.

She thinks of Michael as a brother. But eventually marries him although she still loves Brandt.

It is a book of romance, humor and pathos with a twist to the eternal triangle and only time determines if a happy ending is possible for all.
