About the Author
William Ashanti Hobbs, III (aka Ashanti) is a Print Management major at Florida A&M University. After experiencing his first African-American History class in 1991, the then 21 year-old artist decided on putting a purpose to his writing. He eventually started Meroen Press in order to be in control of his own artistic destiny and offer opportunities to other young black writers. Although he has been writing poetry and short stories since middle school, this is his second book (Pseudonymous, a collection of short stories and poems, being his first). Ashanti's currently working on a memoir for th emaking of Chocolate City, a student film by fellow FAMUan Rob Hardy. The Print Management major's second novel will deal with the Meroen woman in the community and family structure.
