The Author shares with readers his life from time he graduated from high school, his life excited life in the navy , and from the navy to a civilian life, his call to the ministry, and the unusual experiences in his life as pastor of over fifty years, and sixty years of marriage, before the Lord called his wife home. It was an exciting journey for a young man who grew up on a one mule farm in the red hills of Georgia.


About the Author

William J. Taylor, better known as Preacher Bill Taylor by many of his acquaintances, was born in the rural community in Cherokee County Georgia, between the town of Ballground and Canton. Soon after his birth, his family moved back to the community where his father was born in Dawson County, Georgia; where they lived on a small farm for several years, then moved back to Cherokee County to a large farm. He attended the public schools of Georgia, graduating from Acworth High School, Acworth, Georgia. Enlisted in the navy at seventeen, and upon his return from the navy, met his wife Eva Satterfield and they were married Dec. 24, 1947. Seven years after their marriage, he accepted a call to preach the gospel and enrolled in college to prepare for the ministry. He was ordained October 31, 1954, and was called as pastor of two country churches that shared their pastor. He graduated from the Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, North Carolina, in 1966. Serving churches as a pastor for over 50 years. And since retirement he has authored seven books. He and his wife, celebrated over 62 years of marriage before the Lord came for her July 29, 2009. God has blessed them with two daughters, four grand children, and four great grand children. He lives in Wingate, North Carolina near the Wingate University in Eva and his retirement home, which they had built upon their retirement from his regular pastorate, but he continued to serve as an interim pastor for a number of churches.
