About the Book

As Michael Patrick Ryan understood it, the criminal justice system was in place to protect the innocent, prosecute the guilty and preserve peace in the land. But what he got tangled up in, none of the above was accomplished. An innocent’s life was forever ruined, the guilty were free to continue their destruction and peace did not reign. And so his options were clear. If he couldn’t depend on the authorities to do their job he would have to take justice in his own hands . . . and so he did.

About the Author

When I was in the twelfth year of school, my teacher asked my class in Oakland, California, what we wanted to do when we were grown-up. Most of the replies came back as “I don’t know. It’s too early in life.” I knew right off the bat what I wanted: “To fly airplanes.” The class laughed, including the teacher. But I stuck to my guns, and after all these years, I had the last laugh. I entered the U.S. Army Air Corps as soon as I could meet the requirements of age and a myriad of other items. I was a fighter pilot for four years during World War II. After the war, I continued flying as a flight instructor followed by airline flying and finished my career as a test pilot at Edwards Flight Test Center in Southern California for an aircraft manufacturer and for an airline.
