About the Author

ALEX PASCUAL is a native of the Philippines. He graduated from Philippine Science High School, Class of 1970, and began his college studies in the University of the Philippines. Shortly after, his whole family immigrated to the United States where he obtained his Bachelor of Civil Engineering degree from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Alex developed a passion for studying and mastering American English only much later. He participated in an accent-reduction class for internationals, and soon after that, co-founded with other students a Toastmasters Club named The Atlanta Language Klub, or “TALK” for short. A professional structural engineer in the Southeastern United States for more than three decades, Alex presently resides in Atlanta, Georgia with his wife, Eleanor Mae. They have three children and nine grandchildren.
