About the Book

It was the Depression years of the 1930's. It had been a tough period for the family. Resources were severely limited. This member of the family, a 10 year old, runs an errand for a dime and before his teen years are over, he has worked as janitor, paper boy, funeral attendant, oil worker, aircraft mechanic - and more. The alternative for him in this difficult situation was simple. Go to work, make some money, and afford things not otherwise possible. "Wake Up Eddy" is only the beginning. Here are his adventures and experiences while growing up, the lessons as relevant today as they were then.

About the Author

The author grew up in a small town in central California during the Great Depression of the 1930’s. Desperate times quickly led him to doing odd jobs, unloading the family of some of its financial burden in those early years. Before adulthood, he had taken an assorted array of jobs, each with its own demands, its own lessons and its own adventures. College and a stint in the Army followed. He spent his adulthood in rocketry, guided missiles, and the American space program. His family, his church, the arts and his community rounded out a busy life in Southern California.
