About the Author

A native of Mobile, AL, the author is a graduate of the U. S. Merchant Marine Cadet Corp, Class of 1940, and attended Tulane University. He is a Master Mariner, Any Tonnage, Any Oceans. During WW II he served as an officer and Master of cargo and troop ships, participating in major military campaigns. Postwar, he was Manager of Delta Line's’ services in Argentina, Brazil, West Africa and Europe, and served as President of Delta Steamship Lines, Inc., New Orleans, from 1959 to 1979. Capt. Clark also served as a Director of the Panama Canal Commission and as National Vice Chairman of the Council of the Americas. He and his wife, Sandra, reside in Pass Christian, MS.
