About the Book
Blue Lake is a story of love and relationships.
It is set in the Midwest in the sixties and nineties.
I sat up, hugging my knees with my arms. The wind whistled around me, picking up sand. It was cold though I heard the temperature more than felt it. My down jacket kept me nice and toasty. I pulled my knit cap down on my ears. I looked at an especially gnarled piece of driftwood that stuck up out of the sand like a quiver of arrows. The wood had bleached out to a silvery-gray. Like the ‘Blue Lake’ beyond the beach.
I sighed. How times flies. Whether you have fun or not. Here I was sitting on the beach in the early spring of my fifty-first year. I, Roger Jonathan Davis, on the beach, looking at the vast Lake, and wondering about the Meaning Of It All.
In six months, I would indeed be fifty-one. I laughed. Way back when as I was being born, the Allies dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima. August 14, 1945. I shook my head. What a ghastly thought.
About the Author
The author was born and raised in Michigan within spitting distance of one of the Great Lakes. When the time came to go forth into the Real World, he spent over half of his adult life in the San Francisco Bay Area as that was the only place there was a body of water large enough to simulate the Lake.
