About the Book
I saw the technicians literally run the outcome of my tests to the doctors. Soon this tall and impressive looking man came into my room. Everyone became quiet. Gently, he told me I needed immediately to undergo surgery. He started to leave stopped, turned around and came back to my bed. He locked his deep, dark eyes onto mine and said, “You must trust me.“ In this strange land far from home, I was deeply moved. In the drama of the moment all I could manage was a simple, “I do.”
About the Author
Now what? Although I was a busy wife, mother of four, high school history teacher, my two older children were getting ready to leave home and go to college. My two youngest children would be doing the same thing in a few years. The house would be empty and quiet. I wanted to be prepared for those childless years by doing something very different, very exciting. But what? Up to this point I was a white knuckled passenger on a commercial flight when the 99’s come to our local airport. They would give then free lessons for females interested. I was intrigued so I signed up. After a couple of lessons, I was hooked. This was an activity mentally stimulating and exciting. All my energy and free time was devoted to this hobby. After hours of flying lessons and hours attending classes, I succeeded in obtaining my IFR rating. I flew almost eighteen years all over the Unites States and Canada. In that time my trips only had two unexpected events where my life was in question; once flying to Alaska and the other caught in the most violent thunderstorms over the Appalachian Mountains.
