It was between the heavy breathing that I knew I was throwing the love of my life away. The woman beside me was not my bride to be and I was to be married in a few days. This was not the first time and I don’t know why I am doing this. Lust is too simple of an answer. I fell into sin and I can’t turn back the clock nor can I undo my actions. Three days was too soon for a complete undoing of betrayal but I was determined to keep my promise. When I proposed, I did so in purity and faith with a promise of commitment and to that I wanted to remain true despite my indiscretion. Do you come clean when you’ve committed such a great wrong or do you hope that the years can silence the conscience? I needed an answer and a way out but I had fallen.
The true love of my life could not be anymore different than the woman beside me at this moment; however, they were best friends. I met her in the church when I was 8 years old. She was a chocolate drop as my mother liked to playfully call her on account of her complexion. I was a kid not interested in girls yet, but I was taught to respect all people. That was my faith as a servant of Jehovah. Looking at what I am doing now, I hope it is not lost. I was raised to believe in the sanctity of marriage and the marriage bed.

About the Book
Karen Jenkins appears to have her life perfectly set before her as she prepares to embark on the most important role of her life – that as a wife. Her dreams are shattered, however, when she is betrayed and she is forced to re-focus her life. Is it worth it to wait on God for love and how do you recover after disappointment? Those are the themes grappled with in this book which is something that all people can relate to.
About the Author
Margaret Buapim is an emerging writer who has been "a long time in the making." Recognized and awarded the Greater Los Angeles Mensa Society in 1990 for essay writing at the age of 18. She continued her focus and love of literature by obtaining a degree in English at Oakwood University. A poem featured in the 1994 River of Dreams Anthology entitled Children of the Night was recognized and published and a short story was included in Guide Magazine. It was not until finding faith in the true God, Jehovah, that the creative juices began to bubble up again. Ring Envy finally came to fruition in 2006 and another poem entitled Childhood was recognized by Blue Mountain Press.
