About the Book

As the farmer sat on his front porch early one hot summer day, he constantly watched the sunny sky, with his farmer's almanac lying on the wooden bench nearby. As he watched the sky he prayed that dark thunder clouds would move in and cover the sunny sky. He had a feeling that it might soon rain because some of the elderly folks in the neighborhood were complaining about their arthritic aches and pains. The farmer realized that a soaking rain was a must, no just a sprinkle to settle the dust. The farmer knew that if it did not soon rain, he would lose his vegetable, tobacco, soybeans and sugar cane. The farmer looked up to the sky and said, " God if it do not rain soon all my crops will surely die." A few hours later thick dark clouds moved in and covered the once sunny sky. Thunder begin to roll lighting began to flash and the must needed rain began to fall. As the heavy rain moved in it made a wonderful sound upon the roof of the house which was made of tin. As the wind blew and the trees waved in the breeze, he asked his family to go inside even the barnyard rooster abandon his perch. The farmer asked his family to be quiet because the Lord was at work. The thirsty crops welcomed the rain, the river began to rise, the creek began to swell. The farmer said, ''thanks you Jesus for answering my pray. By: Mr. George F. Fitzgerald
