About the Author

Susan was born with sand between her toes but hears the siren call from the mountains of Virginia and West Virginia. Her ancestors find life again through her research into the history of her family. Susan is a “coal miner’s daughter” and granddaughter, as well as a daughter and granddaughter of teachers. Needless to say, education and the natural world have been an essential role in all of Susan’s life. Her most important contribution ever– her two sons. They are good men and have taught her much. She is currently enjoying life traveling around the United States in her motorhome.
