This is a true love story about the author and his soul-mate. David G. Sirrah has written under a pen name, and changed names and places to maintain a degree of privacy His friendship with Sarah goes back to 1960 when they went on an overseas trip together. They remained friends over the many years but there had never been any romantic involvement. But when he returned from an overseas assignment they were both alone. Then what started as casual correspondence and chatting between two long-time friends, developed into a most marvelous coupleness. "Coupleness" is a term the author coined because he felt their relationship could not be defined any existing English word. A state of coupleness is attained when two people each feels that her/his number one priority is the happiness and contentment of the other He and Sarah were soul mates for only 3 ½ years. Of that period he writes: “That's 44 months or 1,309 days-or 31,416 hours. Each day, each hour was for me the most precious of gifts, and I choose to believe Sarah felt the same.” After she died he became aware that she had kept virtually all the email messages, letters, poems, cards, etc. that he had sent her, both during their courtship and whilst they were living together. As a tribute to her memory he reproduced some of the correspondence between them and included also some of his original oil paintings. David and Sarah spent hours on the phone -just like teenagers!
