About the Book
This book, A Choice Between Two Evils, tells Aglaya’s personal story in chronological order, her struggles before, during and after the Second World War. It covers events from collectivization until meeting her late husband William Gorman. She became a war bride that ended her dream coming true when she came to America.
About the Author
Aglaya Gorman in an author of numerous stories that were published in the Russian language in many emigrant publications. The last time was in 2003 in Moscow. She is a co-author of the book “The Twentieth Century” (the story of one family) which was published by the Institute of Political and Military Analysis –the center for study of Russians abroad (“Rusaki”, Publishing House, Moscow, Russia). That book describes, in three parts, the life of her family, “The Years of the Purges” and “In the time of Yezho”, was written by her father Konstantin Steppa. Her brother Erik Steppa wrote “People, Don’t Forget About This”. The book, “The other side of a Medal” was Aglaya’s recollections about the events of German occupation of Kiev, her main contribution to that work.
