About the Book
Since life to me is not a straight road but ups and downs and in and outs, so my stories are a variety of these swaggering roads of fiction and fabrication. Some of my stories are serious at times, others humorous at times, (my kind of humor, not a sidesplitting laughing humor but a subtle inward chuckle).
The main story begins in the early 1900’s. John Addison works in a Pennsylvania coal mine. He wishes to get away from this deadly environment. So he and his wife Sarah and daughter Emma leave to look for something better in life. They temporarily find it with the help of new friends. Their love for one another and maintaining their sense of humor helps them through the vast difficulties that encompass’s them. A recession, World War 1 and the influenza epidemic enter into their lives.
Emma then meets wonderful witty Walter Mundane; they fall in love, and then get married. He acquires a farm and that changes their lives. A son Steve is born to them, and as Steve finishes high school he meets the love of his life Alice, who has her own hardships and he convinces her to live at the farm with him and his mother Emma. The Korean War erupts and he is drafted and sent over there. He and a buddy are captured by the North Koreans, his perilous time in their prison camp and then his escape. Steve returns home to marry Alice. They have a son Danny, and Danny’s association with Joseph, Mary, and Christine Carpenter, and the malice Judith and her twin brother’s Jack and Kane, surely becomes one of the main and final links of this bizarre story.

About the Author
Robert L. Bader was born in Queens, New York, when his parents moved to Brooklyn. He met the love of his life right before he graduated High School. They were married when the author was nineteen years old. he became an artist apprentice for television, previous to his marriage. The variety of shows from musical, dramatic, comedy, quiz and news programs in the early years of live television were the most exciting and best. In every capacity everyone learned together to make it a good show. It was hard work and long hours but a terrific career. Bader moved to New Jersey with his wife and their three children, where they had two more there. They live on a beautiful brook and the hard work landscaping has made it all worthwhile. The author usually gets up about two or three in the morning and write. The quiet of those hours with no phones or door bells ringing and noisy chatter are important to him. Painting in oils which Bader does during the daylight hours and writing the short stories at night gives him great satisfaction in fulfilling his life.
About the Author
