About the Book

Emily and the Feel-Better Fairy describes a girl who is sick and bedridden. To escape her feelings of illness, Emily wishes to be taken away to a magical land and soon the Feel-Better Fairy grants her wish. They embark on a journey that begins by them soaring above the glistening ocean where they encounter the light children. They leave the ocean and go toward the setting sun where the Queen of the Night appears and is very kind to them. Emily is then lifted from the fairy’s wings and put in a carriage that is the Big Dipper. Her ride was over the next morning and the Feel-Better Fairy set her down on the ground where she met the dew fairies. They danced and had fun with the fireflies. She soon realized that the dew from the magical land was the perspiration from her high fever on her forehead as she came back to reality. She uses her imagination again to go to the magical land and she meets the flower princess in the meadow. By now she has gone back and forth from reality to imaginary land. In the end of the book, Emily gradually starts to recover.
