It motivates, invokes contemplation; and even transformation.There are also chapters in this book that address social issues that we can continue to make better. About the Author
ABOUT The Author: Brenda Gale Stanley was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She is the fourth child of eight born to the late Lawyer Stanley, Sr. and Lena Stanley. Their love continues to be her strength and guide. Brenda is a registered nurse and minister living in Atlanta, Georgia. She graduated from Miami, Northwestern Senior High in Miami, Florida. She obtained her Nursing Degree from the University of Florida in Gainesville, Florida. She has worked as a staff and Medical Intensive care Unit Nurse at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, Florida for many years before moving to Atlanta and working as a Surgical Intensive Care Nurse for Emory University Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. While there, she attended Candler School of Theology at Emory University earning a Master’s of Divinity Degree in 2000. She is a member of Stronghold Christian Church in Lithonia, Georgia. She started, ‘The ABCs of ICU’ a company aimed at promoting patient safety and teaching healthcare providers in the Intensive Care Unit. Her interests include teaching, writing, creating designs, listening to music, humanitarianism, improving race relations, spending time with her nieces and nephews who are the joys of her life, and serving God through advocacy and a positive ministry. She is the founder of ‘The Colors of America’ a company dedicated to improving race relations by teaching children an understanding of different cultures and accepting and embracing diversity. Her participation in the Transforming Community Project at Emory University was her inspiration for this project. Brenda works as a volunteer with the Partnership against Domestic Violence, and a member of The Million Voices Campaign against domestic violence and abuse. Her daily motto is to live fully, and allow others to do the same. True freedom lies in being able to be yourself with people who accept you and love you for your uniqueness, speaking your truth, listening to others, and doing whatever good you can in this world.
