About the Author

William R. Ferguson’s interest in pathology first came about after his basic education and introduction to the varied medical communities during his military service. Once Mr. Ferguson had completed his basic training in pathology, he soon became a very valuable asset and educator to those said organizations. After receiving this continued education in pathology, he was then introduced to yet another and very different community in pathology, the forensic sciences. His training in the forensic sciences and his insatiable desire to gain a greater understanding into the cause and manner in medico-legal death investigations, was finally achieved through his employ as a pathologist assistant (FMT) with a Medical Examiner’s Office. Mr. Ferguson has proven himself as a true educator by the numerous colleagues that followed him into these anatomical communities. Mr. Ferguson’s book will empower his readers with the necessary knowledge that is crucially important in the performance of an autopsy.
