About the Author

SUSAN ANDERSON COONS (aka: Susan Anderson Coons-Hawkins), AUTHOR, lives on the Oregon Coast in North Bend, Oregon. Her first published children’s book, The Lighthouse Mouse, received the Independent Publisher’s Bronze Medal IPPY award in 2007. Coons has worked as an insurance agent and free lance writer from 1979 to 2009. She taught writer’s workshops for Santa Rosa California Parks and Recreation Adult Education, California Writer’s Club writing session on Inspirational Writing, and other seminars. Her column, Wine People, was published in 1976 in Contra Costa Times, Calistoga Weekly and Russian River Gazette. Her radio show, Rendezvous, on KHUM interviewed French speaking guests in French to share French culture with from 1968-1969. Susan taught Elementary School in Healdsburg, California plus High School classes for Santa Rosa, California school systems. Her poems have been danced at the International Artist Embassy Dancing Poetry Festival with awards from poetry contests and magazines such as Poet and Alameda County Peanut Anthology. Some published poetry books by Vinland Press are: Party in the Fields, The Chariots Have Left The Heavens, Harnessing Motion, Eternity Glimpsed, This Fresh Pursuit.
