Hidden Crime is a short novel which depicts the world of sex slavery and the young girls trapped within it. This is a crime which involves child abuse, greed and deception. Minerna is sold into sex slavery by her father who thinks she is coming to the United States to become a famous dancer. Minerna is forced to face a life of prostitution with little hope of ever finding a way out.


About the Author

Carolyn Nessen was born in Manchester, Tennessee. She was known then as Carolyn Turner. However her dad was an Army sergeant who worked in the Motor Pool. She lived in Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama, South Carolina and Kansas during her grade school years. Her dad was released from the army on a medical discharge and they settled in Murfreesboro, Tennessee. Carolyn graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 1971. She received a BA, and she was an English major.Carolyn taught Fifth grade for one year after she graduated. Carolyn and her husband Leroy moved to St. Louis after that fi rst year of teaching. Leroy wanted to attend a school in St. Louis. Carolyn is now retired, and she spends her time writing and exercising. She also loves to read, and she crochets for the Helping Hands group at her church. She has recently begun to experiment with water color. Hidden Crime is her fi rst novel, and she hopes it does very well simply because people need to be aware that crimes like this occur, and they should be stopped as soon as possible.
