This book is a collection of memories and stories through moments in Dr. Morris Hunter Jones’ life. There are stories about med school and the navy, as well as some bits that mention some family and some wonderful tidbits from his medical practice. A wonderful way to gain insight not only of the man, but also of the times he lived in as well. Although there are very few dates listed, one can still understand the dates and times by looking at the context.


About the Author

Dr. Morris Hunter Jones Jr. was the first child of Morris Hunter Jones and Regina Georgiana Wagner, born on January 3, 1900 in Washington D.C. He lived in D.C. until he was about 10 years old and lived for a time in Bisbee, Arizona, and Big Springs, Texas before going to college at University of Arizona He registered for the draft during World War I. He later moved to Chicago for medical school at Rush Medical Center., a branch of the University of Chicago. Morris H. Jones was in both World War I and II. In WWI he was in the army and for WWII he was a doctor and a Captain in the navy reserves. Morris Hunter married Louise Marcia Ohls daughter of Harry Otto Ohls and Estelle Beatrice Nelson Ohls on June 17, 1938 in Hillside, Illinois (and had three children with her; Morris Hunter Jones, Douglas Evan Jones, and Marcia Louise Jones), he also married Ivy Jones in 1928, and Grace Marie Van Orden in 1960. Morris Hunter died on February 26, 1974 in Oak Park, Cook, Illinois, United States of America when he was 74. after a long life of loving his family, caring for the health of his patients, and serving his country.
