About the Book

Spoken Word for the Young Soul is a compilation of poems written to inspire our youth. It discusses the day-to-day issues they deal with, as well as offer them some things to think about with respect to future life decisions. “I hope this book will ignite a desire in you to get your message out there. That it will help you to see Spoken Word poetry as a vehicle for your own voice and social change efforts. It asks that you not let go of your dreams and to stop looking outside yourself for the power to accomplish them. Deeci is a Philadelphia poet, author and educator. “Philly born and raised, she has a unique perspective on her home town. “I don’t write about the dressed up City of Brotherly Love, I write about what Philly’s like when our company goes home”.
