About the Book

This is the story about Trini Lopez, a man who grew up in the Mexican barrio and black ghetto of Dallas, Texas. In spite of, or maybe because of the prejudice and the poverty he experienced as a youth, he worked hard to achieve his goal of providing a better life for himself, his parents and siblings. Trini did not realize his dreams would take him from the fields picking tomatoes sixteen hours a day in Indiana, to dining with Princess Grace and Prince Ranier of Monaco, to the palaces of Europe and to every continent in the world (except Antarctica). People tend to think of Trini as overnight success. In truth, Trini did not become an overnight success and in no way was his rise to fame meteoric. Trini stuggled as a singer for nearly 12 years before being "discovered" by Frank Sinatra at a night club named PJ's in Hollywood, California. About the Author

In Trini's personal life he is a very compassionate, giving and sincere man. He has the old fashhion values of honesty and chivalry like opening the door for a lady and standing for a woman when she leaves or returns to the table. Trini has a fantastic memory and can remember the smallest details about events and conversations he has experienced in his life. He is very humble, unassuming and respectful of others. Trini enjoys working in his garden and eating ice cream in bed while watching movies. He likes to play golf and tennis. He likes people an tour bus drivers know if he is in the yard when they go by his home, he has been known to get on the bus and talk to the people. He is never too busy for his fans. However when Trini steps on the stage, a boldness and charismatic feeling overtakes his shy personality. He brings each person in the audience into this feeling and makes everyone want to share his joy. When he is singing a hip rock and roll song, the fans stomp their feet and sing along, however when he is singing a beautiful ballad, in his sexy baritone voice, every woman there feels he is speaking just to them in a very intimate conversation.
