About the Book
This book is about my own personal journey as a Christian in the Christian Church Circle. It talks about my experiences that I encountered while trying to serve Our Lord and his people. It is a basic and yet powerful reality of what can happen in some of our churches if we are not mindful of whom and what our purpose for being there is really about. Stained Glass Windows is also a reminder of what the church is supposed to be, filled with love, encouragement, and harmony with one another. This is God’s heart and God’s design for the church. The purpose for this book is to bring awareness and enlightenment to the church, to continue to pursue godliness and peace among one another. This is the way the church is meant to be, so that when others come, and they will come, that they can experience the life-changing love and peace that our Lord suffered and died for in order for us to “have life and life more abundantly” (Jn. 10:10b).
About the Author
My name is Vernene Renee’ Rogers. I am the wife of Elder Clarence Rogers Jr. Together, we have six beautiful children: Clarecia, Montrell, Clarence, Theressa, Christina, and Jacob. We are also the proud Grandparents of eight adorable grandchildren: Cameron, Lyntrell, Zachary, Treasure, Tyrese, Taylor, Gavin, and Major. I have lived in Louisiana all of my life and have enjoyed many of the comforts of Cajun cooking and Southern hospitality at its finest, along with the traditional foot stumping, choir singing churches that exemplifies the splendor and grandeur of Southern living. I have been graced to accomplish a great many things in my life, including but not limited to being a licensed minister, spiritual counselor, public speaker, and psalmist. However, none of these things could ever take the place of what I have enjoyed more than anything, and that is raising my children, spoiling my grandchildren, and making sure that they knew that Nana would do everything in her power to leave a positive and important legacy for them to follow and be proud of. It has always been a passion and pleasure for me to share God’s love and encouragement whenever given the opportunity, just as someone has shared with me in times when I needed it most. I am confident that whoever reads this book can relate to some if not all the things that I endured, and realize that God always has a plan of escape and that out of our pain, though unfortunate as it may seem, there is always a teachable moment to share with someone else or prevent these types of things from repeating itself. This is my prayer.
