About the Book
“Tales of the North, as told by Uncle Einar” is the followup volume to “Norse Mythology...According to Uncle Einar”, which came out in 2000. Again, this is a “children’s book for grown-ups”, starting with “Fun And Games” and “Cats...It Had To Be Cats”, and ending with “Mischief Time”.
About the Author
Jane T. Sibley, Ph.D. (author) is a specialist in Norse mythology, folklore, and runes. She did part of her work at the University of Oslo, and currently teaches and writes, as well as selling her spice blends at various farmers’ markets and Renaissance faires. Joel A. Leib (illustrator) had a long career in the arts, but he was only able to complete the cover and title page illustrations before he left this earthly plane. I leave it to the reader to imagine what he would have done with these stories. Both of us have had fun exploring the humorous sides of Norse mythology as well as one Saami legend.
