That One Girl

Ever since I’ve had common-sense I’ve been interested in people. How they behave, what they say and the things they do. In all my life, just 14 years of it, mind you, I have noticed at nursery, at church, in the neighborhood at the supermarket and particularly at school, all the way through to year 10, there’s always That One Girl. You wouldn’t think that a girl in year 7 would have a friend in year 11. I did. Older people find it easy to talk to me and me them. But, I don’t only talk and listen. I take note, most often, mentally, unaided by paper and pen. I want to tell you about That One Girl, who at one time or the other stood out, for whatever reason. It could be that she’s got a ‘doctorate’ in telling lies or stood out because of her beauty, intelligence or for being mean.
