This book is about the relationship between a mother-in-law and daughter-in -law, who became proxy mother and daughter. They were able to communicate across the miles and became very committed to each other. They became confidants and shared many incidents and situations from child-birth to Lucy’s Legacy. Bert knew that he had a very loving mother and wanted her to nurture his bride. His mother did so.
About the Author
Marian Heath Griffin lives in Baton Rouge, Louisiana with her husband of fifty-six years. She served as a Licensed Professional Counselor and Student Personnel Administrator at Southern University for thirty-six years, the last seven years as Director of International Student Services. Griffin graduated from Delaware State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in sociology and psychology, attended Atlanta University in School of Social Work, attended the Gammon Theological Seminary at the International Theological Center in Christian Education and graduated with a Master’s degree in Psychological Counseling from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary. She received a Master’s degree in Educational Supervision and Mass Communications from Southern University, specializing in photography and print journalism. She did further study at Louisiana State University and Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. Griffin has worked with children, youth and adults for most of her career. She has served as musician for children’s choirs since she was twelve years old and has organized children’s choirs for several churches. Griffin has enjoyed traveling in all fifty states and six of the seven continents with her husband, Bertrand Griffin, and their three adult children, Bertrand II (Tosha), Karen Griffin Phenix, (Keith), and Michael (Tracie). We have eight grandchildren. My sister, Nancy and her husband, Albert Kellam always goes along for the ride or the flight.
