#18 If only you could tally The numerous hours I’ve spent wondering, Daydreaming, Fantasising About how my lips Would press to yours. Softly at first, Then deeper. Urgent - Like you were my Personal supply of oxygen. I know how you’d hold me. Like you’re scared I might break. I can imagine I’d be frantic- Hungry almost. Grabbing and clawing, Caressing every inch Of your being, Which is so uncharted For someone I know So well. I can see you smiling, Staring back at me As we laugh Through the awkwardness Of our first time. But it feels like My first ever. And it should have been. So instead I ponder How you’d sweep my hair Over my shoulder, And I’d trail my fingers Down the scar.   Robert: You know I love you as much as anyone I care about times two.   Pinkie Swear I love you In all your forms. I love you in And out of shape. I love you When you’re cruel And when you’re kind. I’ll love you with eyes wide open And when you’re walking blind.   I run my hands over the yellow rocks, letting the heat nip at my fingertips. Up here the wind feels cleaner; my head feels clearer. “I wish I could have a house up here,” I say - to myself mostly. A lopsided smile spills onto Robbie’s lips as he looks at me through hooded eyelids. “Oh yeah? Why up here?” I turn three-sixty, taking in the glory of the views with arms outstretched, trying to grab at the magic of our location. “Do I even need to answer that? It’s just so gorgeous up here! It would be the perfect inspiration for my writing.” “And what about me?” he asks, head cocked to an angle. Now I’m the one smiling. “You want in on this?” Robert struts over to my side, his new-found confidence oozing from every step. It makes me feel like he’s the older one. He is taking the lead. He props his elbow on my shoulder and joins me in gazing out at the wilderness. “Maybe.” “Well it’s good land here, perfect for your dream of being a farmer. But just remember that one of our cows will be just mine, and I’ll call her Julie.” Robert lets out a low chuckle. “We’ll need to make a proper road first though.” “Of course”, he agrees, his dimples flashing into sight. “I want most of the rocks left natural - we should have glass floors so you can see the rocks through it!” Robert scrunches his nose. “That could be quite difficult to do Addie.” But with the pouting of my bottom lip, he soon caves in and promises to try and keep our dream house as raw as possible. We spend hours hatching out the details and key features of our joint future, but as the day nears its end and the sun spills red across the horizon, I feel my heart sink. Because just like the day, the summer is nearly over - and it made the possibility of our yellow mountain home seem impossibly far away.   #22 Right from the beginning Of knowing you, Butterflies exploded my stomach Because already I could see Everything we could be. Only an eternity of you would Satisfy me.     Robert: Hey, I need some advice. Addie: Are you free to call me? Can’t be bothered to text. Robert: I’m in the library. Addie: Urg, why are you always in the library? Robert: It makes me feel clever. Addie: Go for a break. Give that tired brain of yours a rest and talk to me for a bit because I’m awesome and you will feel energised and motivated after talking to me! Robert: Lol, OK. x
