Airmail Pilot Roy Warner went from being awarded the Aimail Fliers' Medal of Honor by President Roosevelt to being listed by every airline in the United States. Because of a simple act of loyalty to a friend he was without a job and has no prospects of one. Helped by a secret society of pilots called 'The Quiet Birdmen' he found out about new startup airline in Peru. Roy moved to Peru where he continued his flying career with Condor Airlines. He flew for Hugh Wells from 1937-1942. Roy found love and friendship in the Andes until his life is overtaken by war.


About the Author

William Gibson spent four years in the U.S. Marine Corps including 13 months vacationing in Southeast Asia. After his discharge he attended Portland State University, majoring in English and literature. Bill's paternal grandmother (Roy Warner's Sister) died in 1976 leaving him in a box of documents, photos and magazine and newspaper articles about her brother. The first thing he saw when he opened the box of photo of President Roosevelt presenting Roy with the Aimail Flyers Medal of Honor. After reading through everything. Bill was excited at the life great uncle had led. His next through was, this would make a great book. Fourty five years later, this is that book.
