Declarations Tales which ask us all to come to terms; stories which touch upon the environment and circumstances people find themselves in when they struggle and are forced to or need to change. Stories which ask us to evaluate our lives and respect the lives of others. Often when people feel trapped they can recover, they can overcome. Its their decision,which involves a commitment. Stories like “Growing Older” and “Swimming Alone” speaks about the intimate feelings of those in trouble and out of control. They talk about dealing with turmoil while they keep an eye on a better future. Frustration and tension must be handled to be successful. “Dreams of an alternate future” deals with realizations we can’t face. How far will someone go to forget? “John Henry” is a part of a science fiction novel(The Journal of Trevor Jones). This story tells a fragment of that story. The novel is yet unpublished and is upcoming. This story details life changing events which in itself could cause mental stress but John Henry keeps pushing forward. The Covid-19 pandemic was a wake up call in America. Too much was happening and No solutions were in sight. Everybody has their story. Monkeypox is one of them. DECLARATIONS is intended for a level from young adult(16yrs) to Adults.

About the Author

Garry A Johnson is a unique and rare author. He speaks plainly with conviction, honesty and courage. The stories he presents open a door to the ordinary and amazing lives of people generally on the other side of the News stories outside of the public eye. Garry A Johnson has pinned nine previous books. Two of his works and several others in production are Science Fiction (Afrofuturism). Those Books, “Future Shock” and “Barry Lawson’s Future”, are available through Xlibris bookstore, Amazon and Barnes and Noble. The other books are filled with interesting thoughts and comments not generally offered concerning the lives of African Americans, Politics and the micro-agressions of living in a society with deep roots in malevolent treatment towards people (citizens) of color. These are stories which explore lives filled with suffering, coping and assimilating mixed with those of triumph and success. This author writes to expose the truth, speak freely and give voice and presence to Justice, common sense, history and the lies which ruin lives. This author was raised within the Red lined borders of America. He is an elderly citizen, Graduate of a HBCU with years of Public Service and employment. He is the product of loving and peaceful family.
