About the Author
Dr. Charles Usigbe was born in Edo State, Nigeria. After graduating high school, he moved to the United States in 1980 to further his education. Dr. Usigbe earned an Associate in Arts from Fresno City College, then transferred to the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, where he obtained a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. He continued his academic journey, earning both a Master of Business Administration and a Doctor of Philosophy in Business Administration. Dr. Usigbe is a driven and innovative accountant, a certified Acceptance Agent for the IRS, and the President of Omo Usigbe Tax Services Inc. He opened his professional tax business over 25 years ago and has since been serving the population of Las Vegas, NV. Through his work, he has assisted over 550 business owners in developing and incorporating their businesses. Dr. Usigbe remains motivated by new challenges and strives to set the gold standard in his industry. As a professional income tax preparer and accountant for individuals, businesses, corporations, partnerships, and nonprofit organizations, Dr. Usigbe helps lower- to middle-class Americans with their taxes. He chose a career in accounting because it offers a variety of opportunities in areas such as auditing, financial tax, and management accounting. Additionally, he is a professional grant writer for nonprofit organizations and offers IRS audit representation, payroll, bookkeeping services, IRS offer in compromise, 501(c)(3) filings, ITIN filing, and notary services. Dr. Usigbe is also an accomplished author, having written three books on business strategies: Identifying Effective Promotion Strategies for Small Retail Businesses in the State of Nevada, Business Strategies in Times of Crisis, and Identifying Effective Promotion Strategies for Small Hotel Businesses in the State of Nevada. His company, Omo Usigbe Tax Services Inc., is known for its efficiency, honesty, and friendliness, providing clients with the best service for less. According to Dr. Usigbe, “To be successful, you must have your heart in your business, and your business in your heart.” Dr. Usigbe has received the Loyal Customer Award from Orrtax, one of his first software providers. He dedicates countless hours to humanitarian efforts through his nonprofit affiliation with the Nigerian Association of Las Vegas. He has held prestigious roles as Treasurer and President of the Edo Cultural Association Las Vegas. Currently, he is the Director of Akugbe 1 International Inc., a humanitarian organization that supports a scholarship award program for qualifying students in Nigeria. The organization has also launched a clean drinking water project to support the people of Ubierumu Uromi in Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State.
