Step 1: Getting Started

Publishing Consultant
Your Publishing Consultant will discuss the options and services available to you so you can choose the best one that will suit your needs.
Payment Central Representative
He or she will take care of processing your payment and confirming when it is done so that your book can move on to the next stages of the self-publishing process.
Agreement Control Representative
Your Agreement Control Representative will make sure that you’ve read and understand Xlibris’s Terms and Conditions when you sign your contract.
Step 2: Submissions
Submit your Manuscript, images, other required materials, and your design and layout preferences.
Submissions Representative
Your Submissions Representative will coordinate with you to ensure that you submit all the needed materials for your book on a timely basis and that these comply with content and formatting requirements.
Content Evaluator
To ensure that your work meets Xlibris standards, your Content Evaluator will review your manuscript for offensive words, hateful themes, and legal issues such as plagiarism, copyright infringement, and libel, among others.
Encoder, Editor, and Illustrator
The Encoder, Editor and Illustrator will take care of your respective data entry, editing or illustration requirements whether these services are already included in your publishing package or if you’ve purchased them separately.
Step 3: Production
Work with us to ensure that your manuscript is ready to be sent to the printer.
Author Services Representative
Your Author Services Representative will be your point person during the entire production process, coordinating between you and the designers. He or she will help you submit your materials in the proper format and will explain what you should expect as the book moves through our company.
Marketing Consultant
Looking to target a niche audience? Or is your goal to connect with the widest range of readers possible? Your Marketing Consultant will help you create the right marketing plan to suit your book’s promotional needs and budget.
Design Team
The Design Team will work on your book cover and interior based on your specific design requests. They will also work on design revisions, should you send in any corrections.
Step 4: Final Prep
You’re one step away from publishing your book. Send in your approval, and we’ll work on the finishing touches and send your book off to our printer.
Author Services Representative
At this point, your Author Services Representative will make sure that your expectations have been met. He or she will then secure your approval to finalize your book.
Marketing Consultant
While your book is being finalized, you and your Marketing Consultant should continue the preparations for your book marketing campaign.
Writers, Designers, and Researchers
The marketing services you signed up for determine who will work on your marketing campaign. Writers and Researchers create content for your press releases and other copy needs, while Designers work on creating the layout of your website.
Final Quality Assessment
The FQA Specialist will do the final design and layout quality check for printer compliance.
Content Evaluator
Your manuscript will be sent back to the Content Evaluator to make sure that everything conforms to Xlibris’s content guidelines after going through all the revision stages.
Step 5: The Finish Line
Hooray! Your book is now available for sale on selected online bookstores and ready to be purchased.
Book Consultant
Your Book Consultant will handle your book orders and will help you determine the number of books that you should keep in stock based on your goals and planned author events.
Marketing Services Representative
Your Marketing Services Representative will act as liaison between you and the team fulfilling your marketing services - the services included in your publishing package, if any, or those you have purchased separately.
