About the Book
The Ambersand Castle Trilogy, of which The Mystique Of Ambersand is the second book – and Well-Kept Secrets is the opening segment – is what I call a philosophical fantasy and some call science fiction.
Its narrator, ZendorDin, is a mystical catalyst character. In his usual manifestation, he’s a highly telepathic kitten, later nicknamed Zendo. However, he is much more than a psychic cat: his primary mission is to ready the 15-year-old hero, Jaiya, and 13-year-old heroine, Vaieah, for the oncoming complexities of their destiny paths.
ZendorDin’s favorite other form is an oddly striped flying zebra surrounded by rainbow colored light as depicted on the cover of book one. His mission includes broadening the perspectives of Vaieah and the twins as well as teaching the telepathic language called thought-talk to all people and animals capable of learning it. The gorillas, monkeys, and main characters go a step further and learn sign language.
The first segment of chapter one is entitled, “Well-Kept Secrets Revisited” because it gives a summary of book one. There’s also a synopsis on Xlibris.com on the web page for that book, including a picture of the book’s cover with my ballpoint pen drawing of ZendorDin in his zebra form.

About the Author
Janet’s poem, “ZendorDin,” is included in the first section of this book. It’s about the catalyst character of this trilogy and is featured on the first page of The International Library Of Poets’ 200-verse book, The Best Poems and Poets of 2003 and their 33-poem audio set, Sound Of Poetry. The International Society of Poets also included Janet in their International Who’s Who In Poetry and honored her with an International Poet Of Merit Award bowl and Outstanding Achievement In Poetry trophy. This trilogy came to Janet the way her poetry does, as ideas begging to be put into words.
