About the Book
Fishing for Almost Anything that Moves is a book that is full of sensuality as well as fishing. It is important that you enjoy fishing to enjoy the book. The whole book is primarily fishing. Half way through the book, when the two main characters go fishing in Mexico, the book starts to deal with the sexual side of the characters. The “R” rating placed on the front of the book was put there to keep people from reading the book who might not enjoy mature subject matter of that kind. The main characters, Jeff and Bill, meet two beautiful Mexican young twenty year old women who offer to serve as fishing guides for them. They are filling in for the regular guide who was drunk when the men wanted to go fishing. When the old man who was supposed to be their guide sobered up, he took them on many memorable fishing outings. The old fishing guide is in love with a young woman whose father owns the motel where the fishermen are staying. That love affair is described in detail as are the love affairs of the two fishermen with the young women they have started to fish with.
Excuse me for jumping ahead. The book began with fishing for muskies on Lake Tippicanoe, in North Webster, Indiana. Then the men fish for bluegill on another nearby lake. They travel to Canada and fish for perch and northern pike on Lake Superior. Then they hike up a small mountain to fish for rainbow trout.
After that trip, they go to Mexico. After falling in love with the young female guides, they take the women fishing with them to Alaska. The last fishing location is Jamaica followed by mountain climbing in Alaska. Most of the book is everyman’s dream of fishing many wonderful locations. Can men really leave their devoted wives for younger women in Mexico, and get away with it. Possibly divine judgment falls upon the two men. The happy pipe dream suddenly turns sour on the mountain slope in Alaska. Maybe the author just didn’t feel like having a happy ending this time. I hope you notice that Jeff, who was hoping to get life insurance out of his unlucky girl friend, was dealt with most harshly.
