About the Book
Jena Matthews had been selected to participate in a special probe that would take place in deep space. She was surprised that she was one of the chosen four. Jena had no special qualities that she was aware of. Quad-Comm Probe was four probe units consisting of two team members and a ship-board computer, per unit. The mission of the probe was to see if the non-human team members, particularly the androids, could obtain emotions. The Quad Probes were numbered from one to four. Jena was part of Quad-Comm Probe 3. Her extendo-android was Hal (Human and Logical) and her ship-board computer was Number Three. The other Quad-Comm Probes consisted of the following: Boris Vatsues, Dora (Dual Organic Regulated Automat) and Number One. Bruce Johnston, Cal (Calm and Logical) and Number Two. Chris Andrews, Nora (Normal Organic Regulated Automat) and Number Four. Much to the delight of their observers the Quad-Comm Probe proved to be more successful than they anticipated. Through the exposure of unknown life forms and atmospheres; treachery among ship-board compatriots; and their own special comradery, the Quad-Comm Probe learns to think, love, sorrow, worry, and live on their own. Quad-Comm Probe 3 exceeds the growth expected of them by their observers. The intelligence and curiosity of Hal places them in danger. One of their observers tries to steal one of Probe 3's greatest achievements. This theft jeopardizes the entire mission. Follow our Quad-Comm Probes through their adventures and mis-adventures. Feel the feelings that grow with each instance. Discover the “what ifs”.
