It's a philosophic romp beyond the youth of old age with a Don Quixote and Zorba-the-Greek inspired journalist who believes that life is about taking in, turning over, and giving back. Using essays, aphorisms, and time tested poetry — in concert with photo-impressions of romantic locales around the globe — she shares some life-affirming wisdom — from Socrates to Existentialism and beyond — gleaned during a lifetime of questing. Spirited, and occasionally poignant, the book encompasses the author's struggle for a satisfying concept of God and her journey to recover — and live out — idyllic images that first touched her heart. By example, she challenges readers to transform their own lives and dare to see the world through the eyes of the playful, up-front child they once were.

About the Author

ELAYNE WAREING FITZPATRICK (BA English, MS Philosophy) was a city desk reporter for The Salt Lake Tribune; promotion director of KUED, Utah’s public television station; and an associate professor at the University of Utah before relocating in California in 1974 to teach Philosophy and Humanities at Monterey Peninsula College on California’s Big Sur-Monterey coast. She is also a freelance journalist who, after raising a family, began travelling to -- and writing about -- some of the world’s most charming places unspoiled by industrial development.
